How to feed birds without worrying about attracting other animals such as squirrels or other rodents…
I love bird feeders and this seems like the perfect solution to keep other animals from using the bird feeder (especially for those of you like me that live in the mountains). My grandparents would feed squirrels and had an incident where -while they were away on vacation- squirrels ate through their piping and got into the house. My grandpa still likes to feed the squirrels walnuts, but squirrels, if given the chance, can surprise us. There have also been many instances where squirrels have clung onto my grandparents’ bird feeder. My grandparents live in a beautiful area where there are mourning doves, blue jays, and many types of bird species I would not be able to identify. When squirrels are not being territorial of the bird feeder, we all get a chance to appreciate all of the different types of birds.
